Decision Support System for Global Water Balance

Agriculture consumes the majority of global freshwater—mainly through inefficient irrigation—while spatial and temporal variability in soil infiltration and farmer decision-making limit water use efficiency and crop productivity. The project develops an integrated, agent-based simulation and decision-support system combined with capacity-building activities to optimize irrigation practices, improve water use efficiency, and enhance crop productivity through data-driven, adaptive irrigation management.
