As part of the ongoing activities under the project "Improving Emergency Response Capacities to Natural and Man-made Disasters in Small Communities across the Black Sea Basin Region", the project partners and stakeholders actively participated in a field demonstration held last week in Kutaisi, Georgia.
The event was organized with the support of the Red Cross Society of Georgia and focused on preparedness and effective response in the event of a natural disaster, with a special emphasis on earthquakes.
The demonstration brought together local authorities, non-governmental organisations, emergency responders, and community members to showcase practical steps and coordination strategies during seismic emergencies. Participants had the opportunity to observe and engage in simulations that highlighted best practices in evacuation, first aid, and crisis communication.
This initiative is a vital part of the project’s goal to enhance disaster resilience in vulnerable communities across the Black Sea Basin. By sharing knowledge and building practical skills through such joint activities, the project strengthen regional cooperation and improve the readiness of communities to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies.
