BlueC
Carbon Binding Blue Black Sea
The project aims to preserve marine vegetation and macrophytes in seas, which cover less than 0.5% of the seabed and account for over 50% of ocean sediment carbon storage. It will use GIS integration and remote sensing technologies for modelling and mapping. Activities include database creation, community-based awareness programs, and management tool development. The project will also integrate the Ecosystem Education Programme and Marine Litter Watch app for monitoring and reporting.
